Pamukkale Travertine Terraces

The Pamukkale region is famous for its hot springs, renowned for their healing properties. The thermal waters in this area are rich in minerals, particularly calcium. The travertine terraces here are actually limestone steps formed over millennia. During the Pamukkale Tour from Side, you will walk along these stunning travertine terraces, bathe in the thermal waters, and enjoy the breathtaking views around you, just as the Romans did in ancient times.

Ancient Pool of Pamukkale

The ancient pool of Pamukkale, also known as Cleopatra's Pool, is a thermal pool with a constant temperature of 36°C year-round. According to legend, Cleopatra, the great Queen of Egypt, often bathed in this pool for its therapeutic benefits. In the 7th century BC, an earthquake struck the city, causing the land to collapse. Thermal water filled the gap, creating this pool. Numerous scientific studies confirm that the pool has healing effects for conditions such as cardiovascular, skin, eye, and nerve disorders. Swimming in the therapeutic waters above the ancient ruins will be one of the most memorable moments of your holiday.

Hierapolis Ancient City

The ancient city of Hierapolis was established around 2000 years ago during the Kingdom of Pergamon as a spa centre next to the Pamukkale travertines. Later, during Roman times, the city was called the 'Sacred City' due to its numerous religious buildings. The Romans came to Hierapolis to worship the gods in these temples and benefit from the nearby thermal springs. Here, you can explore the ruins of many temples, baths, and accommodation buildings while experiencing the magic of antiquity on your walk.
